Workshop - Day 3 at the Retreat:

Effective Negotiation and Influence Skills

Women in Leadership Edition

with Noa Sheer

Seasoned leaders know that a healthy business relies on nurturing and maintaining relationships, and this could seem in direct conflict with the need to gain the most value for yourself in negotiations. As leaders, what we need in many cases are the skills to maximise value for both us and our counterpart. We need proven techniques to build trust, protect our interests and find creative solutions. These techniques will be the focus of this workshop.

This workshop will challenge what you know about decision making. We will delve into the biases and intangible aspects that lead a person to agree in a negotiation. We will consider what is unique to women in negotiations and how we can work around the specific challenges and capitalise on the specific advantages we face.

We negotiate every day, and as leaders we would be wise to invest in reflecting, designing and practicing this set of skills.

In this session:

You will gain a negotiation planning template that is designed based on a decade of research. You will practice using this template in a series of exercises and will take it with you for future real-world negotiations. We will explore negotiation skills, persuasion approaches and key influence methods to prepare you to have clarity and control in important conversations.

Expect honest self-reflection, sharing of experiences and some role play. This session is designed to leave you empowered and equipped for future negotiations, whether they be capital "N" (formal) negotiations or lower case "n" (day-to-day) negotiations.

What you will learn:

  • What motivates people to agree
